  1. This map aims to address the involvement of larger American food producing companies with companies in the fast food industry. The Wendy's company is a part of a co-op supply chain agreement titled The Quality Supply Chain Co-op Inc. This consists of seven total production facilities that produce for the Wendy's company (Annual Report, 2010). Through much research it has proved nearly impossible to uncover the names of these specific producers, but the interconnectedness between restaurant companies like Wendy's and more specialized food giants and farming companies has become very obvious. In this map I located the headquarters of several top American meat, dairy and soft drink producers, as well as several of the largest American farming industries. Many of these products, such as Coca Cola, are a staple in every fast food restaurant, and therefore have a valuable and strong tie to the Wendy’s company and its restaurants in the US and beyond. Because Wendy’s is a distributor of many of these companies’ products, this map draws a connection between the headquarters of the Wendy’s Company, and the headquarters of several other companies whose products are carried by Wendy’s and many other fast food giants.

    Key:
-Turquoise pins represent the headquarters of each American food producer mentioned above and listed below.
    - The pink pin marks the location of the Wendy’s Company headquarters, and serves at the center of this supply chain map.

  2. I think this map is a really good start but could be improved if you made in worldwide because Wendy's doesn't just operate in the United States.

  3. I think that this map is very good as a representation of how Wendy's has operated in the United States. It shows how the company has spread throughout the country. It would be cool to see the spread of Wendy's around the world, represented in a similar manner.- Eric Hoeffner
